Hi helpful Sitely users
I have just updated my Rainbowworks website (https://www.rainbowworks.com.au) and Sitely is leaving a huge white space between the menu section and the header. I have tried and tried to remove it without success. It isn’t there when I am editing. The view when editing is fine. But when I publish, this huge white space appears.
Please can someone help me get rid of it!
Thank you.
It’s hard to make out on this end @Rainey…
Have you compensated for something, like the footer to far down? I see a few negative margins which is part of the problem.
I think it would be best to have Duncan take a quick look at it…
Hi @Rainey, sorry about the trouble. Please send us the project file via swisstransfer.com and we’ll take a look.
Mysterious blank spaces are a thing, a not great solution is to make a space in the layout, put something in the space, save it, and then delete the something, and move the layout back over the mystery space. About 3 in 5 times that works. Well, on my app.
Actually a better solution is to send us the project file so we can resolve the issue ![]()
Thank you so much, Duncan, for the excellent support and a great product. The service is fantastic.
No idea if that is the problem: But there seem to be menu drop-downs, even so there is no need for them. So it could be that the space for the drop-down menu is saved, which creates the white space.
You can see that in the console of your browser, when you check elements.
Good luck.
On my Firefox there seems to be only one defined window width. If I make the window smaller it snaps immediately into mobile phone layout. Have you set all the others to not present or not published?
