We noticed that some or all of your website pages deploy Google tag G-ZWS5MT4XXX via a Google Tag Manager snippet (gtm.js). This configuration will soon no longer be supported. What’s changing?
To ensure consistency across all websites using the Google tag, we are standardizing our tagging snippet behavior. Starting on October 02, 2026, all gtm.js snippets will initialize on container load, regardless of any gtag(‘config’)commands.
To continue using the gtag configuration code, you must ensure all pages on your site use the gtag/js code snippet.
This sounds like something Sitely is designed to help me implement. Anything beyond just re-publishing my site(s) with my tags specified?
What is your site URL - I can take a look to see if Sitely is already implementing things correctly. My feeling is that a small update to Sitely will, or may have already, made implementation changes behind the scenes.
Don’t touch either site. Don’t change the Analytics ID. Don’t manually add Google code. Instead ask @duncan whether Sitely’s current publishing engine has already been updated for Google’s October 2, 2026 change.
If it has, or will be in the near future, you should only need to republish your sites after the update has been implemented.
