Finally getting into my store design and want to know what would be my better option Ewid or Snipcart? Right now I am just using simple Paypal to fit into my design…but there will be more things added as time goes on. What is the easiest, for design and function? Many thank yous!
I think @Girlwerks you’ll have a far better experience with Ecwid.
Here’s Ecwid in the wild - https://tngt.com.au/shop.html
@Girlwerks i used to use Ecwid, and it is easy to implement into sitely, however since their price hike, I looked for alternatives and found shopify just as easy to use and integrate into my website. I also found them cheaper starting at £5 a month. Hope that helps. Simon.
Thanks Fig! At the moment I am just putting Paypal buttons on items…just to stay with my website design- but I think I have to let go and move on with the big kids! ![]()
I investigated Ewid last year and thought it was pretty sweet…and I like the free part but even price to move up a level is very reasonable. So I’m gonna go for it!
Thanks Sicherry! As long as I am investigation…I’ll go check out Shopify while I’m at it! ![]()
I’m using a combination of Snipcart and Stripe, and I like how well they both integrate with Sitely.
• Snipcart provides the inventory management. I can specify how many items I have and it stops taking orders at that point.
• I’m using Stripe for credit card processing.
What I don’t like about Snipcart is that it was sold ‘recently,’ and the new owner don’t seem to react as quickly. I hope they’re not just trying to pull as much revenue from it without investing anything back. I also don’t think their reporting tools are very good. If I want to see how many people have registered for an event, Snipcart only shows me the most recent purchases. Which means I’m keeping a separate report of the people who register. And their pricing has been raised. It’s also very difficult to remove obsolete items from your inventory, and you have to manually set inventory levels instead of being able to import a list.
There’s a Stripe marketplace and it might have a solution that combines inventory management with the credit card payments, and I’d like to find it. But I haven’t done any research to try to figure out which of them are easily integrable with Sitely and also provide inventory management.
