Hi, is there a blog system for sitely in which my clients can log into the website to add or edit blog articles? Preferably something which can be installed on the same server I host the website on.
Thank you!

Hi
Needing a blog system for my clients, I spent hours searching for a simple and minimalist solution. I settled on Bludit, which is self-hosted and easy to install. However, there are other options available, such as Grav or PluXml.
@Allan, that Bludit is a really good find!
It really works well across the breakpoints! Do you feel in fits well into the Sitely ecosystem? Maybe if you have an example in the wild it would be great to see how you have it working?
Hi Flamin
We can’t really call it an integration into the Sitely ecosystem, as the blog needs to be installed separately from the main site, so they are more complementary tools.
I haven’t had the chance to set it up for a client yet, but I did install it on one of my servers to test it out. I’ll send you the link privately (to keep those pesky search engine bots from snooping around). If anyone else is interested, feel free to ask
Hi, I would love to see a working example within a Sitely page as well, please.
Are you referring to an example with Bludit? As I mentioned earlier, it is unfortunately not possible to directly integrate the blog into a Sitely site. Bludit is installed in a separate directory and cannot be embedded directly into a Sitely page. You would need to redirect visitors to the external URL of your blog, such as blog.yoursite.com or yoursite.com/blog.
I’ll send you the link in a private message anyway
Hi, sure I understand. I am more interested to keep the Header and Footer of a sitely page. @Allen Is there a way to have an iframe inside a normal sitely page where I can have the blog shown?
Hello
Yes, this should be achievable, but I haven’t tried it in this specific context, and I don’t think it’s a best practice. During my research into blogging solutions, I tested Google’s Blogger (which I strongly discourage). At the time, I integrated my site’s header into the blog, first using an iframe and later using PHP, which is a better practice.
To do this, I created a page on my site (built with Sitely) containing only the header, which I then included in the blog using the PHP file_get_contents() function. However, a header (or any page) created with Sitely already includes a title and description, and blogging platforms like Blogger or Bludit also add their own titles and descriptions. I wondered if this might cause issues with SEO. I’m not an SEO expert, but I fear that these conflicts or redundancies could negatively impact SEO. Embedding the blog within a page of your site, as you suggested, would likely present the same issue.
That said, beyond concerns about SEO and best practices, I do believe this is technically feasible.
