I’ve been referred to a potential client who needs help with their website. While I’m still clarifying their exact needs, I’d like to ensure I can use Sitely to make necessary revisions and edits.
If I understand correctly, you would like to have a separate blog index for each article category, for example, one list for recent posts and another for archives? If that’s the case, you can use blog tags to categorize your articles (in the “Page” tab of the article). You can then redirect visitors to a filtered index displaying only the desired category.
When you create a blog in Sitely, an additional option appears in the “On Click” action settings (for example, for a button). This option allows you to link directly to the blog index page and display only recent posts for a specific blog tag, enabling you to showcase articles from a particular category.
Another approach would be to create a separate blog for each category (within the same project), which provides a clearer distinction. However, as far as I know, there is no simple way to move a blog post from one blog to another (i.e., from one category to another).
Thanks for your response. I have used blog tags, so that idea makes great sense for categorizations, dated from most recent to last. Those tags are useful to allow multiple categories from within an article, so moving from one to another may not be an issue.
Recent Posts would likely be a manual effort. If I can figure a way to have a tag show a blog title, that would be a plus.
Perhaps I could add a blog tag that uses a month/year to create an archive list too. I’ll need to dig into that a bit.
Hopefully Sitely will increase functionality for blogs soon. Thanks!
