Do not see images with links

Hi - Sitely Community; Love the ease with which I was able to use your program. Today, I asked it to publish for me, on my computer, so I can still use Fetch. I know some of you have suggested just publishing directly to the web host. I might do that eventually. So I opened Firefox, and Chrome to view the published index page and noticed all of the images with links were not showing in my web page. I have to transfer and upload my url today. I saw some warnings that previewing using a browser sometimes will not show the correct layout. I have even proofed it in my phone also, in preview mode and on my computer screen, before publishing, and it shows all of the images in previews. Should I be concerned? Thanks Sitely Community

I publish to the web from Sitely, what you get is very predictable that way, but I also use Fetch to upload folders that contain Hype projects that I link to from the Sitely project. I avoid Embed code for the same reasons.

Hi @RowlettBoomer,

Sitely implements performance improvements that make the site quicker to load (namely deferring loading CSS and Javascript), as suggested by all page speed tests, a metric also used by Google to rank sites.

The problem with the speed-up techniques is they don’t work when loading the page from the Finder directly, and there’s no way to make them compatible.

For this reason we generally suggest publishing to a test/staging location on your server (i.e. a hidden URL) if you want to preview it online.

Hi Duncan;
Great suggestion! Thankyou for that.
