Escaping footers

Hi. My footers keep running away! I put them where they belong - right under the last layout block on the page - and I save, and when I come bak to that page later, or publish the site, the footer has disappeared a hundred miles down the page, nowhere remotely close to the page bottom. You can view the problem at www.rainbowhosting.com.au. The Branding page is one example of a page where the footer ran away!

I have selected to show the footer on all pages and move with page bottom. What am I doing wrong?

It seems the footer in in place with the link you have given?
If it is an issue on your end, undo show on all pages and then reinstate show on all pages. You might have to adjust the other pages the once…

Thanks FlaminFig. I’ve actually done that several times. The footers just keep running away! I adjust, and they disappear way down the page. I move them up, and they disappear back down again. I’m wondering if maybe I have to resort to making them show only on the current page and copy and paste onto every page. Not even sure that would work.

BTW. I think you might have looked at the Home page. It is correct on it and also on the Copywriting page. On the About page, Branding page, Author Mentoring page, and FAQs page, it’s miles below the end of the page. And on the Client Stories page, it isn’t showing at all, even though it does on the local copy I am working on.

Another issue I just discovered is that I struggle to select anything on the footer to make changes. It keeps disappearing when I try to select the footer or anything on the footer. Weird and frustrating!

Ok, that’s not good!
Have you checked if you have an invisible element(s)? Maybe you introduced it on your mobile?

I can’t check your About, Branding, Author Mentoring or FAQs pages. There is no link to them when I view it on desktop.

Okay, No link. That’s disturbing. The links work perfectly when I view it in Safari on computers around my house. I need to investigate what is happening there.

Yes, I have checked for invisible elements. I have not used my mobile in creation or even, as yet, to view.

Have you tried the Arrange>Fit page height to content command?

No Maxim. I am not familiar with that command. I will go look for it. Thank you.

A while back I experienced pages unexpectedly becoming a mile long with empty space. The Arrange>Fit page height to content command saved me a lot of work.
That hasn’t happened for a long time…maybe updates to the program fixed it…can’t recall offhand.

Are using an old version of Sparkle/Sitely?

No. I am using the current version. I ran an update just a few days ago but that was a minor update.

Have you considered sending Duncan a copy of your website to troubleshoot it?

He is pretty cool about doing that.

Yes. If I can’t resolve it I will. He fixed one other site for me. Very generous with his time and skills. It’s impressive! But I prefer not to impose if I can help it.

On the other hand, he may use your problem as an opportunity to spot a previously unknown bug.

Regardless, Duncan makes Sitely a unique application partly by his front line availability.
