Heck of a time with a loose footer

I just added a new page to an existing site… everything going smoothly until the footers started acting up. When I placed the footers on the new page- they went all crazy on the other existing pages? That is when I move the footer where it should be on the new page- it puts all the others way down so far below where they should be and when I put it back perfectly on the old pages, it throws the footer to the middle of the new page but all the others are perfect. I know this is probably something very obvious…but I’m stumped ! Yes I have the layers right… but what the heck is going on?
HELP please.

One thing that can help @Girlwerks is making sure your footer Group or Layout Block is following the bottom of the page. If you click on the footer section you have and go to the right hand panel under Arrange you will see at the bottom a button you can tun on that says “Move With Page Bottom”. Once done you will need to go to all your pages with one last adjustment.

The other thing have you got your footer section ticked to “Show On All Pages”?
If you have it would have been easier to have just added a page (the footer would come across with it), instead of pasting a footer into a new page.

Hi FF…I had a site with a similar issue. All was well with my footers, until the other day when they got super buggy and began to disappear when I clicked on them. Definitely a Sitely bug. Kudos to Duncan for fixing it all…personal service like that is pretty rare in our world…imagine getting such great help from Microsoft!

In case you are interested, it’s a restaurant site: www.CafeSoleilWareham.com
All my own photos and a video of swans swimming nearby.

Hi Fig! Thank you for your help. On your info… I had dome everything you suggested. Also I brought the footer over with the new page. That is what baffled me about it’s crazy behavior! Finally solved the issue by using the “fit page to content” and it all worked. Fingers crossed. This is not a scrolling site… it’s the old fashion page to page. Client request.
Thank you again… this whole platform and community is Gold Star! :star:

Mac… Weird when it does something unexpected…throws off your whole day!

I’ve had a peep Dave and not bad!
It is also working very nicely on mobile! There is a good balance of cafe and food images and overall your website feels inviting and unique. I hope your patrons receive it well

Thank you for your kind words! It was a labor of love for this tiny 13 table restaurant. I actually created the site as a surprise for them, no charge. When they finally noticed it and got in touch with me, they were totally amazed and so happy! They are, in exchange, letting us have dinner there any time we like.
Here’s part of the owner’s email to me:
OMG David…I wish you could have been a fly on the wall last night when I came across “my” website! All my kids were over for dinner when I went searching for a recent review and then they heard, “OMG, is this our Soleil? Holy crap, that’s the sun in our hallway, omg, that’s a picture of our food, holy s@#t, those are our menus, omg, how beautiful…omg, omg, omg…” Then, “wait a minute” LOL My daughter in law is the one who sent the email to inquire as to who created this perfect website…absolutely perfect, I couldn’t like anything better!!!

3 things I dislike with Sitely…

Header
Footer
Menu

The header and footer should be designed better as Standalone to act only one way: Header to stay on top and nothing else. and ditto with Footer.
They have cause me too much pain.

I had a similar issue. Duncan fixed it for me. That kind of exceptional service is rare in the software world and makes Sitely a very special product!

Just as was hoping the footer would be improved with 6.. it is now actually worse.

God i hate the footer function “Stick to page bottom”

Why don’t you email us (feedback@sitely.app) with a sample project file and details about when and how it’s troubling you.
