Where can I change the color of the play button in the image/video grid? This is possible for individual videos. But I don’t see an option in the image/video grid. Have I overlooked something? Want to change that bright blue of the play button to a decent gray.
The closest solution I can suggest is to use a layout grid, drag a video inside it, and select “Still + Embed in Lightbox” in the video embedding options. You’ll only have a choice between a few black or white play buttons, but clicking on the video will open it in a Lightbox and start playing automatically. If your goal is to achieve an effect similar to an interactive gallery, this could be a good alternative.
Allan, Thank you so much for your kind effort. That’s exactly what I am working on right now. But it is so much more work, also on mobile to get it straight. But I want modest and plain. So I’m going to bite the bullet.
I hope a future update will provide us with the possibility to change that bright blue color.
However, I don’t think this method requires more work. Once you have inserted a video element into a cell, you simply need to copy and paste it into the other cells, then replace the video with another one. Sitely will then automatically handle the layout of these cells.
Otherwise, I thought of another alternative: when an element is placed over a video in an Image/Video Grid, clicking on it still opens the video contained in the cell. You could therefore add a button that occupies the entire cell above each video, setting an image as the background (as a thumbnail) and a “Play” icon as the text. This way, you can choose the color you want for the play button by changing the text color and hide the default one by overlaying it with a custom image.
However, you would need to prepare an image for each video, and the default blue button color would still be visible when the video opens in the lightbox. Additionally, having to create a separate image for each video would require even more work.
Thank you very much, Allan. That’s great! I really appreciate your effort in explaining the process to me. I will try everything you recommended.
I’m still having trouble with the spacing (padding) around the videos in the grid. The first 2 rows work perfectly. But as soon as I add for example 3 more videos, the padding is different. Then the spacing between the videos is not even anymore, tomorrow I will add a screenshot for better understanding.
