It's Sitely or Nothing...

For Duncan,

As I mentioned in another thread, covid forced the shutdown of my production company and I haven’t been around anything to do with film editing or web design for nearly 5 years.

I’m just now literally bringing back my company from the dead, (ironic considering my city is named after the mythical Bird of Fire) and building the new company identity, marketing and of course website.

Back in the pre-covid Sparkle days, I had done a ton of research on web-authoring programs/apps and tested all the Mac-based editors that weren’t total nonsense. (RapidWeaver? Good grief, what a mess…)

The closest competitor was Blocs, which eventually got pushed aside for some not-so-obvious reasons that nobody could possibly understand until you start mucking around with design structures.

Back in January this year I made the decision to quit my “real job” as a Toyota service advisor and concentrate solely on bringing back my company. And when it came to looking at web-authoring tools I did the very same research knowing that a lot’s changed in 5 years what with web-based tools like WiX exploding with new and well-rounded features. And of course I gave Blocs another look to see if they stuck with their same schema of how things get built.

And once again Blocs lost out to Sitely, but for one single reason: Freedom

I absolutely HATE when an app or moreso a piece of hardware tries to force me to do something it’s way, not the way I want. (It’s the very reason why pro-shooters never use any auto-features - you don’t want the camera making decisions on how the image turns out.)

So kudos to you Duncan, and your team, for once again giving me the best tool for the job of remaking my company’s presence to the world. There’s quite literally no other app that will suffice.

Keep it up.
