I have finished the desktop version of my site. I wish to have blocks that are initially hidden on my desktop design (in an accordian menu), not hidden on the other devices. However, when I uncheck “Initially hidden,” on the other devices, it unchecks it on the desktop too. Can anyone help me figure out how to solve this? Thanks.

To achieve the desired effect, you will need to duplicate your blocks and manage their visibility independently for each device. Here’s how to proceed:

Duplicate the block: Create a copy of the block you want to modify.

Configure the desktop version:
• On the desktop version, keep the original block with the “Initially hidden” option enabled.
• Hide the duplicated block (intended for mobile) on the desktop using the “Hide on this device” option.
- Configure the mobile version:
• On the mobile version, use the duplicated block and disable the “Initially hidden” option.
• Hide the original block on these devices by selecting “Hide on this device”.
This way, you will have separate blocks and can control their visibility based on the device being used

I have more than 680 different blocks among 17 pages, so this workaround wouldn’t work for me. Is this the only way to do it?

I could be wrong. But as I understand the documentation, this setting (visible / hidden) is not adjustable per device. It applies equally to all.

Oh no. Suddenly I have a sick feeling inside. I feel like I shouldn’t have recreate 680 additional blocks to get the functionality of unchecking the “initially hidden” box.
@duncan Sitely, PLEASE consider an update that adds the functionality of being able to change the state of “initially hidden” on alternate devices without changing the state on the original device. My site is dead in the water unless it happens.
