Layout changes in latest version update

How do I change the position of the various tool panels which used to be along the top and are now scattered in the latest update. This does not help my way of working when previously all tools were in one place and theres no documentation that I can find on the subject to help.

Also light colour theme/dark colour theme does nothing at all - I must have missed something here or have I?

Help!

Would you be using the latest macOS Tahoe?

If so, I don’t use Tahoe with its “mmm” liquid glass, but have you tried right clicking on the taskbar and see if you can arrange things from the flyout. But then that could be different as well?

Thanks and yes - Tahoe, the latest version 26.3.1 on an M4

All the tools I need are there but are scattered top and bottom in a random fashion. Can’t seem to find any way to change their on-screen position unless any one knows different?

Roger, I feel your pain!

It took me forever to find where the pop up menu!

Happy now to know that it’s floating at the bottom left corner.

I’m sure you have your own issues as well with the new layout.

More issues as I keep trying to get used to it. Not sure what the thinking was behind this update?

I found you can rearrange the top elements using Command-select and drag them. The bottom elements don’t seem to be moveable. Don’t see what the light/dark theme does either.

Thanks all, I did hope that Duncan would possibly have an answer to this as its now become an issue that slows me down alway having to look for something that may well change again in the future!

Having just upgraded from 2013 Mac Pro to M4 mini on Tahoe…

I have the exact same problems as OP .

Hoping this is resolved!

When you say tool panels I believe you’re referring to the Format Bar, which used to be at the top. It now seems to be at the bottom. The three areas of the Format Bar, while aligned, are separate, and with no background colour they look scattered. I must admit I preferred them at the top, but possibly only because that’s what I was used to.

Correct, they are scattered and with a white background they are difficult to even see!

This is a backward step for me and needs correcting or an ability to place these tools where I want them, not being able to seems counterintuitive.

An absence of any explanation for such radical changes from the development team is also a little surprising!

From what I understand, Sitely is built on the Apple platform code base - I think Apple Swift but don’t hold me to that.

When Apple updates their macOS, Apple Swift falls inline hence Sitely’s tweaked interface looking the way it does. I’m not sure but I’m thinking the Sitely Team doesn’t have too much control over this?

From the day I saw Apple’s “liquid ass”(that’s what it is called out there in the world), whoops I mean liquid glass, it was a total no-show for me! They have gone against the basic design principles where the design gets out of the way. Now the design is “hey look at me” making everything hard to read and distracting! A total Yuk! :-1:

And then there is the weird UI function controls being placed all over the application, just to say “hey we have made a change”…Like you said @rogerb, totally counter intuitive.

I have not updated to macOS Tahoe for all the above reasons and more! :frowning:
I’ll hold off and see what the next macOS looks like - fingers-crossed they wake to what they are doing and think about their User base, instead of themselves!
