Soundcloud? Overkill?

I’ve finished recording a fiction that I’ve written. It’s not long, about two and a half hours, and is divided into ten chapters. This will be the first in a series of recordings that I intend to make. I’ll also be sending them to substack. I guess my question is if it would be best to use Soundcloud as a storage place so I could then post links, and they could be listened to on a phone or in a car, or to embed them in my sites, both here and substack? I’m inclined to the latter but before I upgrade my free account I thought I’d check here to see if anyone has advice to on. Thanks.

I always do my best to have it (no matter what it is) on the website.
The moment a User clicks a link to exit your website is the moment you will loose them. By keeping it on your website the User will most likely bookmark your site so to make sure to find it again.

With Sparkle you can keep your sound bites on your server and have them play via the Sparkle Audio widget. But embedding SoundCloud into Sparkle isn’t bad either!
