Business case: I have some PDFs that I have posted on a page. They are associated with an in-progress tournament (current results and the pairings for the next round). I want to be able to quickly update a new PDF for people to view. That’s the only update I’ve made to the site, and I want them to have faster access to the new version of the PDF and not have to wait for the entire site to be republished.
Suggested implementation: From the sidebar, right-click on a page. Add an option to the contextual menu to Publish This Page.
Result: the selected page would be published but none of the other pages are re-posted.
The reason it works is because I have a link to the PDF on the page, and the PDF is stored as part of the project. I’m able to submit the revised the PDF to Sitely to store within the project, and then I re-publish the project, and the links download the new version of the documents.
But you’re right… I didn’t think of just using an FTP client to upload the new file by itself. Does it cause any complications that the PDF is stored within the Sitely project?
