Thanks Sparkle! New minimalistic website

Hi everybody,

here is the result of my favorite activity (apart from teaching dance) … working with Sparkle! Feel free to check it out and let me know what could or should be better. I designed it for 320 and 1200 px.

Hey @Sicherry! Thank you so much for your kind words! I definitely tried to give the text some space and keep everything clean and simple.

Cheers

I like how you managed to make it colorful without being gaudy. The consistency in the animations on the content contrasting with the title section is elegant. Nice job!

Hello @rick and thank you very much for your kindness! The inspiratiom for our colors is the seven colors of the rainbow. Also for the canvas background I went with a tone of white called‚seasalt (#FCFAFA). This way I think the bright colors are less intrusive. Thanks again!

@brookpap Hi there, well thanks a lot Brook! It is really great to see that you guys take the time to take a look and mention all the things that were important to us when we discussed how the new site should like.

You too have a great Sunday!

Hello :wave:t2:

Very nice website. It’s colorful yet simple, I like it. There are just two small details that bother me:

  1. At the top of the page, we can see both menu buttons. It feels a bit strange. If I were you, I would hide the bar (containing the menu and contact buttons) below the header block.

  2. The decorative patterns are above the text; I think it would look better visually if the text were placed on top. But this is just a small detail and not bothersome at all.

In any case, great work!

Hi @Allan et bonsoir!

Thank you so very much for your evaluation and your comments. Would you please specify them though a bit more…?

ad 1.
Actually, I cannot see both menu buttons. On which display do you see both of them at the same time?

ad 2.
I see what you mean. Regarding the homepage I agree concerning the first and main flower of life next to the main title. I changed that (though the difference is really hard to see). Further down the others next to the text, I prefer the flower of life to be on top of the text so I can see the white frame. Also, the difference again is hardly visible.

And on all other pages the logo goes behind the title text I think.

Thanks again!!

Thomas

Haha, bonsoir !

  1. Here’s what I mean by ‘two menus’:

There are two hamburger buttons, one at the top and another one also at the bottom.

  1. I’m not sure I understood correctly. I’m simply talking about the decorative pattern that goes over the text like this

I think having the text on top of the image might improve the look. But it’s really not a big deal, it’s fine like this too.
