Any updates or new version released soon ???
Over a year since last version update, are we just paying for nothing ?
Be patient my friend…
I’m sure there is a very big reason (which we will all love) why the delay. And remember we have all contributed to a very big list of wants which I’m sure the Sitely Team is working out intuitive no-code ways to present it to us.
Personally, I prefer to wait a long time for a stable release rather than a rushed one full of bugs
Yes and no, you can publish regular updates for small features stable and tested. At our company, we normally publish 1 version per month
I don’t expect anybody to know we work 24/7 on Sitely, between support, fixing bugs, and developing new features. But memory is sometimes short?

So about the subject, I think that’s a decent update schedule. We have many fixes that we are rolling into Sitely v6, and have offered the pre-release to those in need.
Every company has a unique business model, and since we rely on upgrade revenue to fund development, inevitably we tend to try to make the release look more interesting by sometimes deferring new features by a few months. If we only had a subscription model, it would be simpler, but it seems most of our customers don’t want or like that, which we understand. It is however a pretty clear cut tradeoff.
So with all that said, yes v6 is coming.
But if anybody perceives that they don’t get enough value from their purchase, it’s pretty simple to cancel the subscription or not purchase the upgrade the next time we issue a paid update.
Also speaking of money/value, anybody who’s still on a v4 license, please know that you still have a 50% discount to v5, and that upgrade will make your license qualify for a free v6 upgrade. Once we ship v6, that 50% discount expires, and v6 will be a full upgrade price.
I actually wish Apple would follow something similar to your business model. Primarily bug/security fixes and go back to charging a fee for upgrades. They might then focus more on customers and less bean counting and marketing.
Nice, after 2 years waiting for a new version.
It’s not like we haven’t released new features in the intermediate releases…
If I may chip in, that “are we just paying for nothing” post is unfair and unkind. You have bought a top-notch program at a decent price, which Duncan and the team have worked hard on over a number of years, and they provide top-notch support. We know they are hard at work on the next version, but the fact that there has not been a release in the past six months does not devalue what you already have. Be reasonable.
@Gjo, can I ask what you are waiting for, other than a “new version”?
To be fair there have been a number of iterations with fixes and new stuff over the year or so. I know we are in a frantic world of more, more, more but that doesn’t mean it is the norm!
Anyhow, I feel things are near!
I don’t understand the problem. I paid the amount X for exactly the software I wanted and can use it right now, with the exact feature set. Even if I didn’t get an update for three years, it would still be exactly the software I wanted. And I pay the annual fee for it because it does what I ordered three years ago. If I get lots of great new updates and features in that time, so much the better… if not… it does exactly, what I ordered… the rest is optional.
I disagree with the complaint. I am also looking forward to improvements, but that does not mean the app is deficient or bad. I would rather wait and hope the upgrade comes without bugs.
All this permanent update business is often just redicolous and distracts from work - same with permanet updates of apps - there is a life other than software updates…
Sitely is hands down one of the best apps I’ve ever used. The feature set is incredibly robust, but what really sets it apart is the exceptional support. Duncan and his team are consistently responsive—every support request I’ve made has been answered quickly and thoroughly.
On top of that, Sitely receives regular updates, often weekly, including pre-release versions that keep the app evolving and improving.
The combination of timely support, a rich feature set, and steady development shows that Sitely operates on a rock-solid business model—easily one of the strongest in the Mac ecosystem.
