I’m performing a client site update. I exported the site to disk, and when I upload the files, the homepage doesn’t load properly; none of the images display (broken symbols), and no animations work. The text, footer, buttons load (button animations malfunctioning), but the nav-bar is different than I designed it. All the pages work as expected except the homepage. The preview works fine, but the upload into the cPanel (file manager>public.html) malfunctions. Any suggestions or ideas I can consider? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks @FlaminFig I’ll give that a try… I think it has something to do with the sizing of the pages (desktop, mobile, etc.). I went into the Browser Inspector and experimented with resizing and some of the images began to show up, but it still malfunctioned. However, it doesn’t explain why the other pages display as expected and the homepage doesn’t… Appreciate you.
Sitely is built on a responsive fixed-width framework.
When you use your browser and reduce or increase the width of it Sitely might show some inconsistencies, not because Sitely is having issues but because you are dragging your Sitely website in between devices, aka breakpoints.
If you really can’t make sense of Sitely’s behaviour then it is always a good idea to make contact with Duncan at feedback@sitely.app and explaining your take on it…
Hi @PaulG, that’s generally the symptom of an incomplete upload, or alternatively of a server side cache. Hard to diagnose exactly without taking a look at the details.
Publishing directly from Sitely is going to solve the incomplete upload, but not the server side cache.
