OK, simple enough. I embedded a video .mp4 file and it displays and plays perfectly in preview. When I FTP the website to the server all the files to into place. I can use Filemanager and see the video file in the /video directory. In fact, I can point the browser to the file at https://davekeys.com/locations/video/img_7109.mp4 and it plays fine but in the web page (Copperas Cove SEO • Web Design • Digital Marketing) there is just a blue frame where the video should be. The file size is 121.12 MB. I want to be able to offer customers a web page with an embedded video they can send me directly from their phone, etc.
I never had so much problem with videos before now.
Ideas?
Aaaand the problem’s solved. I had dropped the same video file on two different pages. Apparently something in translation didn’t like that. I created a separate filename for the page and it works fine.
@davekeys That’s an insanely large file for a 1 min video. I’ve optimised the video for you and shrunk it to about 37mb - that’s still very large, so it must have something to do with how the video was made. Anyway, if you want the shrunken video (no loss of quality, by the way) you can grab it from (link removed). It will open in a browser, so just right click the video and download. Let me know when you’ve got it so I can delete it from my server.
I grabbed it. Thanks!
If you do not have this free app, get it now!
Go to: www.Handbrake.fr
Handbrake takes any video format and encodes it in mp4 but at a much smaller size than any other app can do. It’s amazing!
Super easy drag and drop interface.
It’s from a French company but is in English.
Very good to have in your toolbox!
