Used Sparkle to remake this artist’s website https://www.cameronstudios.com/
It was very enjoyable working with Sparkle - great tools and functionality and the Live Preview is great!
I had to workaround to place red lines under the menu items to indicate which page is currently being viewed. It would be great to have something like borders top/side/bottom selectively turned on for individual items in a menu controlled by something like show on linked page only.
Another workaround was making separate text boxes to label images in the image/video grid. It would be great to have something like the ability to display the Description of the Gallery Cell Content in a text area linked to the image and placed near or in my case under the image. My separate text boxes work fine until I delete/add/move images in the gallery, then I have to manually move all the text boxes around to align with the new image positions. Something like textbox->Display Label could move automatically with the images.
Anyway minor complaints/feature requests… Sparkle is a joy to use. Thanks!
Hello
Well done on your website!
If I understand correctly, you’d like to be able to modify or move images without having to manually reposition the text associated with each image?
This is possible by using a smart field and the image metadata. Here’s how to proceed: place a text box under your image, then insert the “image description” smart field. This field will automatically display the description of the nearest image, provided that you’ve added this description in the metadata of each image.
To add the description to your image metadata, ChatGPT recommends tools like Exif.tools (downloadable) or metapicz.com (online), although I have not personally used these tools.

Thanks, Allan. Yes, I would like the text description to be linked to the image.
I will take a look at adding to the image metadata and using the smart field. I appreciate the feedback
You can have selective borders on your menus. Furthermore, you can have those selective borders appear when an item is hovered over. if you want to keep an indicator, such as a border, selected to show it’s the current page being viewed, its best to add the indicator as a serrate object on the relevant page. For example, placing a transparent box with the bottom border set in a colour over a menu item will look like an underline highlight. All you then need to do is copy and paste the box to other pages and position it over the relevant menu item for that page.
Thanks… I tried out the hover-visible border and see how that works. I used a box with a two-pixel red border only on the top on each separate page set to Show on This Page Only to produce my page indicators. If I add new menu items I have to adjust the red line on each page separately, but it isn’t difficult with a few pages.
