I always like to show the Sparkle (opps . . Sitely) logo with a link to your site, is there an updated version of the new logo?
So am I right in saying that existing files, and new files created in Sitely, will use the file extension .sparkle?
[Incidentally I much prefer the name Sitely—I can’t imagine that if it had been named Sitely all along, you would’ve considered changing it to Sparkle!]
Newly created files have the .sitely file extension. Sitely loads both old and new files.
Thanks Duncan, I will run a fresh install.
Sparkle Sitely just keep getting better and better. Thanks for making such a great program!
Meeting this software has surely changed many things in my life and in the lives of many users. This software has an emotional connection not only with its developers but also with us, the users. Unfortunately, it is sad to see that in every country around the world, this issue can sometimes deviate from its original purpose.
Personally, I have continued to use your software for its success, not its name. I believe that this spirit will continue in the future as well. I hope that this program, which has become a part of my life, will be respected by public institutions and laws as much as it is by us, the users.
Rest assured, success will always prevail.

merak etmeyin başarı her zaman kazanır.
@ Duncan,
Can I safely remove the sparkle-app, after downloading and installing a fresh copy of Sitely ?
All seems to be ok, but thought I ask before I destroy something
Thanks Ben
Yes it’s the same app, except for 5.6 additions and a new name.
Hi Duncan,
maybe a ‘save as’ command can change the extension name from .sparkle to .sitely ?. At the moment, the ‘save as’ command is not available in the Sitely app.

RPX
Hey Raf,
the file menu is mostly managed by macOS, and Apple has removed the save as convention in favor of the duplicate/revert stuff. You can expose the save as by holding the option key down while opening the file menu.
Different name, but same or even better quality, that’s what counts! Keep on going
Hey Duncan,
works great! Thx!

RPX
Hi Duncan! You have a great program and I truly love it. Your sales should be booming! Are you sure that a name change is going to do it for you? As a marketing strategist for over 40 years, I can tell you that your problem most likely lies in your marketing strategy and tactics. I would be more than happy to discuss your situation and help you in any way I can.
The name change had nothing to do with marketing or popularity of Sparkle, it was apparantly a legal issue.
Congratulations on slipping between Goliaths fingers. F him, anyway! Just glad you’re still here, doing your excellent work!! Thanks!
The new name works fine; but be careful particularly when altering links to reflect the new name.
The TLD is
- .app
not
- <…app.com>.
Perhaps this alternate domain is known already but it caught me. It is an easily confusable site using a very familiar URL (perhaps unintentional as was registered in 2021). See note in another post URL Confusions: Sparkleapp.com vs
