What are you using for Inventory Management?

I’ve been using Snipcart successfully for the past 2 or 3 years, but they seem to have become less reliable since they’ve been sold. What alternative are you all using to manage your inventory. That is, I have 20 tickets for a weekly event to sell and I use Stripe to manage my payments. But I need something like Snipcart to prevent my site from overselling. I see that Stripe has addins like Shopify. Does anyone have experience implementing any Stripe addins?

Hello @chuckbo :wave:t2:

I believe most product selling platforms allow you to limit the number of sales per item. Have you tried Gumroad? It can be integrated directly into Sitely as well.

Otherwise, I can also recommend Payhip : it’s very easy to use, integrates smoothly with Sitely, and is quite affordable.

We tried integrating payhip natively a while ago, because it has a nicely designed shopping cart. The problem is they never fixed an issue with the use of third party cookies, so it doesn’t actually work well with Safari (desktop or mobile, so all mobile browsers). We contacted them many times, they don’t seem to find that’s a problem. This is actually what concerns me most about payhip, that they don’t consider all their customer’s potential customers to be important enough to fix the compatibility issue.

Thank you for the information, @duncan. I had considered using Payhip for one of my projects and had tried integrating it. The integration seemed fine to me, but it’s true that I didn’t test it in a real-world scenario. So would you advise against using Payhip with Sitely?

It’s not a Sitely problem, or problem with the integration. It’s just a service that, last time I tried, didn’t work with Safari users. And there are a few of those, particularly on mobile. Specifically their shopping cart would lose the connection to your earlier “add to cart” actions.

Oh okay, definitely a service to avoid then. Thanks!

Thanks for the advice. I’ll check out Gumroad. I hadn’t been aware that it had been added to the list of apps that Sitely supports.
